Val Chiarino Trail:
Autumn is here and is already painting our beautiful region with thousand shades of red, yellow and green.
Being at the very end of the hot season is absolutely time for the last walk of the year and there is nothing better then the Val Chiarino Trail to live the essence of October in Gran Sasso National Park.
Today our hike starts from Provvidenza Lake and ends on top of Mt Corvo (2623 meter on the sea level). The trail is very well maintened and usually takes around 5 hours to get to the top.
The first attraction is already at the start of the path: the Provvidenza lake is gorgeous! so many colors refleted into the water combinated with the view of Monte Corvo and the stunning forest of Val Chiarino Trail makes the atmospher sourrounding this place just magic.
We would like to spend the entire day looking at the Provvidenza Lake but now is time to move on and start hiking this large and well manteined trail which will lead us until Mt Corvo. We notice the presence of a little river who makes stunning waterfalls just beside the path.
After a couple of hours of walking we decide to stop for a quick lunch at the Fioretti shelter (this is a perfect place to rest, eat or even sleep if you need to) and here something changes our plan into a totally different one: why don't go and get lost into the wild? The Chiarino forest is too beautiful today to don't do it!
Step by step we learn that Chiarino keeps many secret places hidden into the forest, this wonderful waterfall is the example and leaves us breathless...
At the very end of day, when is almost time to get back to the trail, we notice an unexpected view: is the Campotosto Lake which seen from Chiarino forest has an incredible impact on the observer, we are faced with a picture painted by the wild nature where the lake is the main subject and the tree branches are the frame.
The sun is falling and the time to come back home has come.
Now we go totally satisfied and with the promise to return to visit this place next October.
